    Description

    Moderntone was produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company from 1934-1942 in cobalt and amethyst, with a few pieces in pink and crystal.  Cobalt is, by far, the most popular color.  The bottom of the butter dish is in mint condition...no scratches, chips, cracks, or damage of any kind.  The metal top has some wear on the knob, by the knob, and underneath.  They are guaranteed to be original production pieces, they were never reproduced.  The bottom stands 1 1/4" tall, 6 1/4" in diameter across the top, and 2 3/4" in diameter across the base.  It has an indented ring for the top to set on.  I tried to show that in sixth picture.  The metal top is 2 7/8" tall, and 4 1/8" in diameter across the base.  I believe the knob has been glued on because there is no screw on the underside.
